Terms & Conditions

    Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms cover enquiring about, booking and travelling on a safari with us. Your written quotation and booking confirmation sit alongside them, and where they say something more specific about your trip, they take precedence.

    01Who you are dealing with

Wasili Wonders is a safari tour operator based in Nairobi, Kenya, arranging guided safaris and tailor-made journeys across East Africa. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Wasili Wonders; "you" means the person making an enquiry or booking, including anyone you book on behalf of.

    You can reach us at info@wasiliwonders.com or +254 180 005 170.

    02Enquiries and bookings

Submitting an enquiry or booking request through this website does not create a booking and does not oblige either of us to anything. It starts a conversation. We will come back to you, usually within one working day, to confirm what is available and what it costs.

A booking exists only once we have confirmed your itinerary and price in writing and received the deposit set out in that confirmation. Until then, prices, dates, lodges and permits are subject to availability and may change.

Please check your confirmation carefully as soon as you receive it, and tell us straight away if anything is wrong — particularly names, which must match the passports you will travel on.

    03Prices and payment

Prices shown on this website are indicative and are quoted per person unless stated otherwise. Your confirmed quotation is the price that applies to your booking.

Safari pricing depends on park fees, permits, fuel, exchange rates and lodge tariffs that are set by third parties and can change. We will always confirm a firm price in writing before you pay anything, and we will not increase a confirmed price unless you change the booking or a government charge such as a park fee or permit changes.

Deposit amounts, payment methods and the balance due date are set out in your booking confirmation. Any bank charges, card surcharges or currency conversion costs are yours unless we have said otherwise in writing.

No payment is ever taken through this website. We will never send you card details by email or ask for them over social media. If you receive payment instructions that look like they come from us and you are not sure, phone us on the number above before sending anything.

    04Changes and cancellations

If you need to cancel, tell us in writing. The date we receive your written cancellation is the date we use to work out what is refundable.

    • 90 days or more before departure — full refund, less an administration fee.
    • 60 to 89 days before departure — 50% refund.
    • Fewer than 60 days before departure — the charges set out in your booking confirmation apply.

Some elements cannot be refunded at all once bought, regardless of when you cancel. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits are the usual example: the issuing wildlife authority takes payment in advance and does not refund it. We will always tell you at the time of booking which parts of your itinerary are non-refundable.

If you want to change dates or travellers rather than cancel, talk to us. We will do what we can, but changes depend on availability and any charges passed on by lodges, airlines or permit authorities.

If we have to cancel your safari for reasons outside your control, you may choose between an alternative of comparable standard or a refund of what you have paid us for the cancelled arrangements.

    05Itineraries and substitutions

A safari itinerary is a plan, not a timetable. Routes, drives and activity timings may be adjusted in the field by your guide where weather, road conditions, park regulations, vehicle mechanics, wildlife movement or your own group's wellbeing make it sensible.

If a lodge or camp becomes unavailable, we will substitute accommodation of a comparable standard and tell you as soon as we can. Where a substitution is materially inferior and we cannot offer a reasonable alternative, we will refund the difference.

Wildlife is wild. We will put you in the right places at the right times with guides who know them, but no operator can promise a particular sighting, and no part of this website should be read as doing so.

    06Passports, visas, health and insurance

Making sure you can legally travel is your responsibility. That means valid passports, any visas or electronic travel authorisations required by the countries on your itinerary, and any vaccinations or health certificates those countries ask for. We are glad to point you at the current requirements, but the obligation rests with you, and we cannot refund a safari missed because paperwork was not in order.

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us. It should cover at minimum medical treatment and emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and your baggage and personal belongings. Safari destinations are often a long way from hospitals, and evacuation is expensive.

You must also tell us before booking about any medical condition, mobility need, allergy or dietary requirement that could affect your safari, so we can tell you honestly whether the itinerary suits you.

    07On safari

You agree to follow your guide's instructions and the rules of the parks and reserves you visit. These exist to keep you, the wildlife and the people who live alongside it safe.

We may end a person's safari, without refund, if their behaviour puts others at risk, breaks the law or the rules of a park, or makes the trip unreasonably unpleasant for the rest of the group.

    08Our responsibility to you

We take care in choosing the guides, drivers, lodges and camps we work with, and we are responsible for arranging your safari with reasonable skill and care.

Some parts of a safari are supplied by independent third parties — airlines, lodges, permit authorities and specialist activity operators. Where we act as agent in arranging those, they are delivered under their own terms and we are not liable for their acts or omissions.

We are not liable for loss or disruption caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, flooding, fire, disease outbreaks, civil unrest, strikes, border or park closures, airline schedule changes, or the acts of government authorities.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

    09Using this website

The text, photographs, itineraries, logos and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, share and print pages for your own travel planning. You may not republish, sell or use them commercially, or reuse our name or giraffe mark, without our written consent.

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or always online. Prices, availability and descriptions can change; your written quotation prevails over anything shown here.

Where we link to other websites, we do so for convenience and are not responsible for their content.

    10If something goes wrong

Tell your guide or camp manager at the time. Most problems can be put right on the spot, and something we only hear about weeks later is much harder to fix.

If it is not resolved, write to us at info@wasiliwonders.com within 30 days of returning, with your booking reference and what happened. We will acknowledge you within five working days and give you a considered reply within 30 days.

    11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your safari.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when we confirmed it. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle your personal information.
